Switch from Jira
Most Jira projects are shared with a team, and the team needs them to stay in Jira. So for team work, the better fit is a live connection that keeps Jira in charge and puts your assigned issues on Today. That connection is planned on demand. The importer is for the other case: a project you run alone, or an old project you want to keep as a record.
Export issues as CSV
Section titled “Export issues as CSV”Jira can export a list of issues as a CSV file. You’d upload that file in Thendoo. An import through the Jira API is planned later, for fields the CSV doesn’t carry.
Issues become tasks
Section titled “Issues become tasks”- The project becomes a List in the Space you choose.
- Issues become tasks, and sub-tasks become subtasks.
- Jira statuses are matched to Thendoo statuses in the preview. Workflows with many steps can be folded into a few.
- Other fields, such as story points or components, become custom fields or are skipped.
Issues that were already resolved come over as completed. Open issues past their due date show as Carried over.
Checks before and after
Section titled “Checks before and after”The preview shows how many issues were found, with a sample, before anything is written. The report afterwards lists anything skipped and why. Running the same export again updates issues you already have. Undo is available from Import history on Settings → Import for 30 days.
What works today
Section titled “What works today”You don’t have to wait for the dedicated importer. Thendoo’s general CSV file importer already reads a Jira issue export saved as CSV.
- In Thendoo, open Settings → Import and pick CSV file.
- Upload the .csv. It is stored encrypted and deleted when the import is done.
- In Match the columns, tell Thendoo which column holds the title, notes, List, status, done, due date, start date, priority and tags. It suggests a match from the column names, and only the title is needed. Point title at the issue summary and status at the issue status.
- Keep the other columns as fields on their List, or leave them out. Under Statuses, mark which values mean done.
- Check the preview, then choose Import.
The rows come in flat: sub-tasks arrive as separate tasks, not under their parent issue. Running the same file again updates rows already imported, as long as their titles haven’t changed. You can undo the import for 30 days from Import history on the same page.
