Switch from Evernote

Evernote is mostly about notes, so this importer is about Docs rather than tasks. It is import only: there is no live Evernote connection in the plan.

Evernote can export notes and notebooks as .enex files. You’d upload one or more of those files to Thendoo. No Evernote sign-in is needed.

  • Each notebook becomes a folder of Docs, in the Space you choose.
  • Each note becomes a Doc, with its formatting kept as closely as Thendoo can.
  • Tags stay tags, so searches you relied on still work.
  • Attachments such as PDFs and images are copied in up to a size limit. Larger files are listed in the report so you can keep them elsewhere.

Checkboxes inside a note stay as a checklist in the Doc. They don’t turn into separate tasks unless you choose that later.

Each Doc keeps the date the note was created, in its original time zone, so an old note still reads as old.

A preview shows how many notebooks, notes and attachments were found. After the import, the report says what came over and what didn’t. Uploading the same .enex again updates the Docs you already have instead of copying them. To start over, undo the import from Import history on Settings → Import within 30 days.

Keep your notes in Evernote for now. Thendoo already imports Obsidian and Markdown folders, if you keep notes that way too.
