For freelancers
Client work, admin and an uneven income in one place
When you are your own project manager, bookkeeper and assistant, the admin falls through the cracks first. Thendoo keeps client work, paperwork and money next to the day you are planning.
What’s different for you
One Space per client
Make a Space for each client, plus one for your own admin. Type "#Acme" in Capture and the task lands in the right Space. Today's Show Spaces chips let you look at a single client when you need to.
Time tracked against what you quoted
On any task, Start timer or Log time (up to 1,440 minutes in one entry), and focus sessions add their minutes too. The panel shows tracked time against the estimate, which helps when you quote the next similar job.
Follow-ups so invoices and replies don't go quiet
Use Follow up on a task to create "Follow up:" a set number of days later (3 by default), or have it created automatically when you finish the task. Send an invoice, mark it done, and the nudge to check on payment is already scheduled.
A month-end close on the last working day
Add the Month-end close starter from Templates, or the fuller freelancer version, and set it to repeat with Last working day of every month. Only one copy is ever open, so a busy month never leaves a pile behind.
Income and expenses from your bank's CSV
Import business account statements as CSV in Money, and let rules sort recurring payees. Find repeating charges spots the software subscriptions you pay for every month or year.
A freelance week in Thendoo
Monday morning, the Weekly review shows each client Space with what got done and what is still open, and you write a short “Big rocks for next week” note. Each day, Plan my day picks three things, perhaps two client deliverables and one admin task, and places them in free slots between calls.
During the week, quick requests from clients go into Capture (“revise logo for Acme Friday #Acme ~45m”) without breaking your focus. The People page holds each client contact with a history of calls, meetings and emails, plus a one-off nudge in 3, 7, 14 or 30 days when it has been a while.
The admin that usually hides gets its own place. Your domain and professional insurance renewals live in Life admin, with reminders 30 days ahead by default. Software subscriptions show up as bills on Today the week they are due.
When income comes in waves
Irregular income makes monthly budgets feel like guesswork. Money keeps the record side simple: import the month’s statement, let rules sort it, and look at “Money in”, “Spent” and “Left over” on the Overview. Budgets per category show what a lean month can cover. Thendoo shows the numbers but doesn’t advise. Decisions about saving for tax or retirement belong with an accountant.
Questions
Can Thendoo send invoices or bill my clients?
No. There is no invoicing or client billing. Keep your invoicing tool and use Thendoo to plan the work and remember to chase payment.
Can I export my tracked hours for a timesheet?
There is no timesheet report yet. Tracked time shows on each task and in Insights per week. Export my data includes everything as JSON files if you need the raw numbers. Time entries are included.
Can my clients see my tasks or share a project with me?
No. Thendoo is for one person, with no shared projects or guest access. If a client runs work in ClickUp, you can connect it and see the tasks assigned to you there.
Does Thendoo help with taxes?
Thendoo can keep the reminders and the paperwork checklist, but it does not calculate or file anything. Talk to an accountant about what you owe and when.
