Why an audit first, then tracking
Subscriptions are easy to start and easy to forget. Each one is small, so none of them feels worth checking, and together they quietly add up. That is why this template opens with a one-off audit instead of a long list of bills to type in.
The audit leans on your real history. Thendoo’s Find repeating charges looks back 400 days for the same payee at roughly the same amount, and suggests each match as a bill. Your job is only to say yes or no. Once a bill is confirmed, a matching charge or pressing Paid moves its next due date forward, so the tracking keeps itself up to date.
The categories
The six sub-categories sit under one Subscriptions parent. Thendoo already starts you with a Subscriptions spending category, so add them inside that one rather than making a second. Budgets roll sub-categories up into the parent, so you can set one monthly limit for all of them and still see which group grew.
Make it yours
- Pay for software through your business? Move Apps and software under a business category instead.
- Share a family plan? Keep it under Phone and internet and add a note about who uses it.
- Prefer fewer categories? Delete the children you will never use. One level is all Thendoo supports, so keep it flat.
An honest tip
Don’t cancel anything during the audit itself. Mark it, then cancel in a separate pass. Deciding and doing are two different kinds of effort, and splitting them makes both easier to start. This template is an organizing aid, not financial advice.
