Microsoft To Do and Thendoo integration (planned)
Microsoft To Do import and two-way lists are planned for Thendoo through Microsoft Graph. Nothing is built yet. See the design and what to do now.
How often: Not syncing yet. An import and a later two-way connection are planned.
What syncs
- Planned import: lists, tasks, steps and due datesInto Thendoo
- Planned import: repeat rulesInto Thendoo
- Planned live link: your lists shown and edited in ThendooTwo-way
Set it up
- 1There is nothing to set up yet. Microsoft To Do is not in Connections or in the grid on the Import page, because it has not been built.
- 2Meanwhile, add the tasks you'll do soon with Capture: press Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac), type the task with a date, and press Enter.
- 3If your day starts in Outlook, keep using it there for now. Outlook calendar is a later candidate, not built.
Good to know
- Microsoft To Do is not available in Thendoo today. Nothing is read from or written to your lists.
- The plan uses Microsoft sign-in only. There is no file upload route for Microsoft To Do in the plan.
- Tasks you copy by hand are not linked back, so complete them in both places.
Microsoft To Do is planned for Thendoo, not available. This page explains the current design and how to use both until it ships. The details may change.
Sign-in, not a file
Most importers in Thendoo’s plan start from an export file. Microsoft To Do is different. The plan reads it through Microsoft Graph, Microsoft’s official API, after you sign in with your Microsoft account. Thendoo would ask only for the access the import needs, at the moment you start it, and a token used only for an import is meant to be removed right after.
The importer is in the second wave.
How it is meant to map
Each list becomes a List in a Space you choose. Steps become a checklist on their task. Due dates keep their time zone, and repeat rules are translated where they match exactly. A rule that can’t be matched is listed in the import report, not quietly changed.
Later: two-way lists
Some people want to keep Microsoft To Do on their work laptop and still see the lists in Thendoo. For them, a two-way connection is planned in the connected-apps stage, so lists show and can be edited in both places.
The safety net
A preview comes first. A second import updates rather than duplicates. You can undo the whole batch for 30 days. Old open tasks arrive “Carried over”.
Meanwhile
Keep your lists where they are. Each morning, capture the handful of tasks you’ll do today and place them around your meetings on Today.
Troubleshooting
- I can't find Microsoft To Do in Thendoo.
- That is expected. A Microsoft To Do importer is planned for the second wave, and two-way lists come with the connected apps stage. Capture the tasks you need for now.
- Can I upload a file from Microsoft To Do instead of signing in?
- Not in the current plan. Microsoft To Do is planned as a sign-in import through Microsoft Graph, Microsoft's official API.
- Will my steps come over?
- That is the plan. Steps are meant to arrive as a checklist on the task, and the preview would show a sample before anything is saved.
