monday.com and Thendoo integration (planned)

monday.com is not connected to Thendoo yet. See what the planned integration is designed to sync, and how to plan your Monday work in Thendoo meanwhile.

How often: Not syncing yet. This integration is planned.

What syncs

  • Planned: items assigned to you on the boards you chooseInto Thendoo
  • Planned: statusTwo-way
  • Planned: datesTwo-way

Set it up

  1. 1There is nothing to set up yet. monday.com does not appear in Settings, then Connections, because it has not been built.
  2. 2Meanwhile, capture the Monday items you plan to work on as Thendoo tasks: press Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac) or choose Capture, type the item with a date and #Space, and press Enter.
  3. 3If your team also uses ClickUp, connect it in Connections. ClickUp tasks assigned to you sync today.

Good to know

  • monday.com is not available in Thendoo today. Nothing is read from or written to your boards.
  • Tasks you copy from Monday by hand don't stay in step with the board. Update the status in Monday when you finish.

monday.com is planned for Thendoo, not available. This page explains the current design and how to work with Monday alongside Thendoo until it ships. The details may change.

The idea: Monday owns the work, Thendoo owns your time

Thendoo’s rule for every work tool is the same: the outside tool owns the task, and Thendoo decides when you do it. Your team keeps running its boards in Monday. Thendoo’s job would be to put the items assigned to you on your Today view, next to your meetings and routines, so you can see what actually fits.

What it is meant to do

When this ships, the design is for you to choose which boards to bring in, and for Thendoo to import the items assigned to you there. Monday boards are flexible, so the status, date and people columns differ from board to board. The plan includes a small mapping screen per board, so you can point Thendoo at the right columns. After the import, status and dates are meant to sync both ways. Everything else, such as the item name and other columns, would stay owned by Monday.

How it is meant to stay in sync

Monday’s API can send a message when a board or item changes. The design combines those messages with regular checks and a nightly pass that catches anything missed, because one channel alone drops changes sooner or later. Monday limits API use by how heavy each request is, and failed requests count too, so the plan is to batch requests and avoid bursts of retries.

Moving in from Monday

Some people want to leave Monday behind rather than sync with it. For them, a Monday importer is planned in the second wave of importers. It is meant to bring over boards, groups, items, subitems and the status and date columns. You would see a preview first, pick a Space for each board, and could run it again without getting duplicates. A whole import could be undone for 30 days. When both options exist, you choose per import: move everything to Thendoo, or keep it in Monday and sync.

Until then, a board’s Excel export can come in through the general Excel importer as flat rows, with a column-matching step. Groups and subitems are not rebuilt that way.

Working with Monday today

Plan the week from your board, then capture only what you’ll touch in the next few days into Thendoo, each with a date and the right Space. Drag them from the To schedule tray onto free time on Today. When you finish, tick the task in Thendoo and update the item in Monday.

Troubleshooting

I can't find monday.com in Connections.
That is expected: it is planned and not built yet. Connections lists only Google Calendar and ClickUp today. Capture the items you're working on this week as tasks in Thendoo.
Copied Monday tasks and the real board drift apart.
Keep copies few and short-lived. Capture only what you'll work on in the next few days, put the board link in the task notes, and update the board right after you finish.
Can Thendoo import my Monday boards from a file?
Partly. A dedicated Monday importer is planned for the second wave. Today a board's Excel export can go through the general Excel / Google Sheets importer in Settings, then Import, as flat rows: you match the columns yourself, and groups and subitems are not rebuilt.
