Our take
Choose monday.com if…
- Your team runs projects, clients or processes on shared boards with custom columns.
- You need automations and integrations that move work between boards and other tools.
- You want phone apps and a large template library for every kind of team.
Choose Thendoo if…
- Your team's work is in Monday, and you want your own day planned around it.
- You want habits, routines and bills next to work on one Today timeline.
- You want your own calm plan next to the team's board, with habits and bills on the same day.
Who each one is for
monday.com gives teams a flexible board for almost any kind of work. Each board holds items, and each item has columns you choose: status, dates, people, numbers and more. Automations, integrations and AI credits sit on top. It suits teams that want to shape their own workflow without code.
Thendoo gives one person a calm plan for the day. Today brings your Google Calendar meetings, time blocks, Top 3 today, habits and bills onto one timeline. It is calm by design, with ADHD support built in: a short plan, a tiny first step, and Carried over instead of red overdue lists.
How they could fit together
Thendoo’s rule for every work tool is the same: the outside tool owns the task, and Thendoo owns the time. The Monday plan follows that rule. Your team keeps its boards in Monday, and Thendoo would place the items assigned to you on your day, next to meetings and routines. Because Monday boards are flexible, the design includes a small mapping step per board for the status and date columns. None of this is built yet.
Where they differ on their own
Scale. Monday handles teams, guests and permissions. Thendoo is for one person.
Personal life. Thendoo includes habits, timed routines, a focus timer, bills and budgets. Monday focuses on work.
Devices. Monday has phone apps on every plan. Thendoo runs in a browser.
A simple routine for now
Until the connection exists, a short weekly habit works well. Open your boards on Monday morning, filter to items assigned to you, and pick the few you will really touch this week. Capture each one in Thendoo with a date, its Space, and the item link in the notes. Then plan them into free time on Today, and update the board as you finish.
When each is the better choice
Choose monday.com to run team workflows. Choose Thendoo if your work is on boards but your own day still needs a plan. Today that means copying a few items by hand; later, the planned connection is meant to do it for you.
Moving from monday.com to Thendoo
- 1You may not need to leave Monday at all. A live Monday connection is planned: items assigned to you would show in Thendoo, with status and dates in both directions. It is not available yet.
- 2A Monday importer is planned for the second wave of importers, for people who want to move everything. The plan is an Excel export first, then Monday's API, bringing boards, groups, items, subitems, and status and date columns.
- 3Either way, you would preview first, choose a Space for each board, and be able to undo a whole import for 30 days. Re-running is meant to add no duplicates.
- 4Until then, capture only the Monday items you will work on in the next few days (Ctrl+K / ⌘K), with the board link in the notes. Or upload a board's Excel export to the general Excel importer in Settings → Import: items come in as flat rows, without groups or subitems.
- 5When you finish one in Thendoo, update the item in Monday too, so your team sees it.
Questions
Does Thendoo connect to monday.com today?
No. Both a live Monday connection and a Monday importer are planned, with no date yet. ClickUp and Google Calendar are the connections that work today.
Which should my team use?
For a team, monday.com. Thendoo is single-user and has no shared boards. It is meant to sit on top of a team tool as your personal plan.
Can I bring my Monday boards in from a file?
Not with a dedicated importer yet; one that reads the Excel export is planned for the second wave of importers. Meanwhile, the general Excel importer can read the export as flat rows, without groups or subitems.
