GitHub and Thendoo integration (planned)

GitHub is not connected to Thendoo yet. See how planned GitHub issues and review requests would land on Today, and how to track them meanwhile.

How often: Not syncing yet. This integration is planned.

What syncs

  • Planned: issues assigned to you, as tasksInto Thendoo
  • Planned: pull requests waiting for your review, as tasksInto Thendoo
  • Planned: a link between a task and an issue or pull requestTwo-way

Set it up

  1. 1There is nothing to set up yet. GitHub does not appear in Settings, then Connections, because it has not been built.
  2. 2Meanwhile, when a review request or issue needs your time, press Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac) or choose Capture, type it with a date, and paste the GitHub link into the task notes.
  3. 3Block time for reviews on Today, so they don't pile up between meetings.
Capture anything fast

Good to know

  • GitHub is not available in Thendoo today. Nothing is read from or written to your repositories.
  • Tasks you copy from GitHub by hand don't close when the issue or pull request closes. Tick them off yourself.

GitHub is planned for Thendoo, not available. This page explains the current design. The details may change before it ships.

Code stays in GitHub, your day stays in Thendoo

GitHub is where your issues and pull requests live, and that won’t change. Thendoo’s part is time. The plan is for the issues assigned to you, and the pull requests that wait for your review, to show up as tasks you can place on Today. A review request is easy to miss in a busy inbox. On a timeline next to your meetings, it gets a real slot.

What it is meant to do

  • Bring in issues assigned to you and pull requests where your review is requested, each linking back to GitHub.
  • Let you link any Thendoo task to an issue or pull request, so the context is one click away.
  • Close the linked task when the pull request is closed, if you want that.

The title, labels and comments stay owned by GitHub. Thendoo would only decide when you do the work, which is the same rule it follows for ClickUp today.

Access

Like every Thendoo connection, the plan is to ask for the narrowest access the feature needs, at the moment you first use it, with one plain sentence on what is read and why.

Working with GitHub today

Capture review requests as tasks with the pull request link, then use a focus session for each one. Short, timed reviews are easier to start than a vague “catch up on PRs”.

Troubleshooting

I can't find GitHub in Connections.
That is expected: it is planned and not built yet. Connections lists only Google Calendar and ClickUp today. Capture the reviews you owe this week as tasks with their links.
Review requests get lost among my other tasks.
Give them their own Space or tag, and plan one or two short review blocks a day on Today. A fixed slot is easier to start than an open-ended reminder.
