Slack and Thendoo integration (planned)
Slack is not connected to Thendoo yet. See the planned message-to-task shortcut, daily Today summary and focus status, and how to save messages today.

Set it up
- 1There is nothing to set up yet. Slack does not appear in Settings, then Connections, because it has not been built.
- 2Meanwhile, use Copy link on a Slack message, then press Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac) in Thendoo, type what you need to do, and paste the link into the notes.
- 3Before a focus session, set your Slack status by hand so people know you'll reply later.
Good to know
- Slack is not available in Thendoo today. Thendoo can't read your channels or post anything.
- Microsoft Teams is planned in the same group but is not built either.

Where tasks hide
A lot of work arrives as a chat message. “Can you send me the numbers by Friday?” It scrolls away within an hour. For ADHD brains especially, out of sight really is out of mind. The plan is to make saving that message as fast as reacting to it.
What it is meant to do
- Message to task. A shortcut on any message saves it to Thendoo as a task, with a link back to the conversation.
- Daily summary. A short message with what’s on your Today view, so the day starts with a plan instead of a scroll.
- Focus status. While a Thendoo focus session runs, your Slack status can show that you’re focusing, and clear when it ends.
Access
Thendoo’s rule is to ask for the narrowest permissions, only when you first use a feature. Each of the three parts would ask for its own access when you turn it on. Message text saved as a task would stay private to you, and message content never goes into logs.
Today
Copy the message link, capture the task, and paste the link in its notes. When you start a focus session, set your Slack status by hand and pause notifications. It takes ten seconds and protects the next 25 minutes.
Troubleshooting
- I can't add Thendoo to my Slack workspace.
- There is no Thendoo Slack app yet. It is planned. Copy message links into Capture for now.
- Requests in Slack slip through before I write them down.
- Make capture the first move: when a message asks something of you, open Capture straight away and type the ask in a few words. Sorting can wait until your next Inbox pass.
