Use Thendoo from Claude and other AI assistants

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client to Thendoo. Choose what each assistant may see and do, approve its changes first, and revoke it any time.

How often: Live. The assistant reads and writes when you ask it to, within the permissions you gave it.

What syncs

  • Your Today, tasks, events, habits and links, read by the assistant you allowFrom Thendoo
  • Docs, people and money, only if you tick themFrom Thendoo
  • Tasks, events, captures, habit logs, time blocks, Docs and links the assistant creates, after your approval when you ask for itInto Thendoo

Set it up

  1. 1In Thendoo, open Settings, then Connected assistants, and copy the server address with Copy.
  2. 2In Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop or the mobile app), open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste the address and select Connect.
  3. 3In ChatGPT, Cursor and other apps that support MCP, add a custom connector or remote MCP server and paste the address. The menu names differ from app to app; look for connectors or MCP servers in their settings.
  4. 4Thendoo opens a consent screen. Check the permissions, untick anything you don't want, choose which writes should ask you first, and allow it.
How your data is protected

Good to know

  • Docs, People and Money are never ticked by default, and modules you have hidden in Thendoo are not offered at all.
  • Apps that can't open a sign-in page need a personal access token instead. Create one in Settings, then Connected assistants; it is shown once and can expire after 30, 90 or 365 days.
  • Each assistant can make up to 120 requests a minute. An assistant can't write to encrypted Docs.
  • Thendoo's own AI assistant calling other MCP servers is planned for later and is not built.

Thendoo runs its own MCP server. Connect an AI assistant to it, and you can say “what’s on my plate today?” or “move the dentist to Thursday and add a follow-up”, and the assistant does it in Thendoo, with your permission.

What MCP is

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use apps as tools. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other apps can act as MCP clients. Thendoo’s MCP server is part of the Thendoo API at app.thendoo.com.

What an assistant can do

With the permissions you give it, an assistant can read your Today, search your things, list tasks and events, and find free time between your meetings. It can create, update, complete and schedule tasks, capture to your Inbox, add events to your own Thendoo calendars, log a habit as done or skipped, add links, create booking links, and, only if you tick them, work with Docs, people and money. Ready-made prompts help too: Plan my day, Weekly review and Brain dump.

You stay in charge

  • A clear consent screen. The assistant signs in with OAuth, as the MCP specification asks. You see its name, where it sends you back to, and the permissions it wants, grouped by module, before you agree.
  • Ask me first. For any kind of write, you can make the assistant ask first. Its request waits as a card in your Inbox, and you approve or decline it with one tap.
  • Revoke any time. In Settings, then Connected assistants, you see each assistant and can revoke it. Its next call stops working.
  • An audit trail. Every call is logged with the assistant’s name, the tool and the outcome, never the content.

Text from your own data is passed to the assistant marked as data, not instructions, to make it harder for a sneaky note to steer the assistant.

Why this helps ADHD brains

Talking a plan through is often easier than clicking it together. A brain dump spoken to an assistant, sorted into tasks you approve, keeps the capture fast and the decisions yours.

Troubleshooting

Could an assistant change things in Thendoo without asking me?
Only if you let it. On the consent screen you can set Ask me first for each kind of write; money asks first by default. The request then waits as a card in your Inbox until you approve or decline it, and it expires after 24 hours.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
Open Settings, then Connected assistants, and revoke it. Its next call stops working, and any requests still waiting for your approval are closed.
Will my tokens or email bodies be sent to the assistant?
No. Tool results never include secrets, tokens or email bodies, and the audit log records which tool was called and how it went, never what was sent.
