Dropbox and Thendoo integration (planned)
Dropbox is not connected to Thendoo yet. Learn how planned Dropbox file links would attach to tasks and events, and a simple way to link files today.
How often: Not syncing yet. This integration is planned.
What syncs
- Planned: Dropbox file links on tasks, Docs and eventsInto Thendoo
Set it up
- 1There is nothing to set up yet. Dropbox is not in Settings, then Connections, because it has not been built.
- 2For now, create a share link in Dropbox and paste it into the notes of the task or event that needs the file.
Good to know
- Dropbox is not available in Thendoo today. No Dropbox files or folders are read.
- Even when it ships, the plan is links only. Files stay in Dropbox and are not copied into Thendoo.
Dropbox is planned for Thendoo, not available yet. This is the current plan, and details may change.
Why link files at all
Half of starting a task is finding the thing you need. A contract to sign, a brief to read, a photo of a receipt. When the file sits right on the task, there is one less step between you and getting going. That matters a lot on low-energy days.
How it is meant to work
You would pick a file through Dropbox’s own chooser window, and Thendoo would save a link to it on a task, a Doc or an event. Opening it takes you to Dropbox. Thendoo would only know about the files you choose, never the rest of your account.
Dropbox is part of the same planned files group as Google Drive and OneDrive, so all three are meant to look and behave alike in Thendoo.
What stays the same
Your folders, sharing and version history stay in Dropbox. Thendoo does not upload, move or delete files there.
Until it ships
If you work with clients, keep one shared folder link per client in a pinned task or a Doc. Put links to single files on the tasks that need them. It is manual, but it is quick, and it carries over cleanly when the real connection arrives.
Troubleshooting
- Dropbox isn't listed in Connections.
- Right, it is planned and not built yet. Only Google Calendar and ClickUp connect today. A share link in the task notes works in the meantime.
- A Dropbox link in my task asks me to sign in.
- That comes from the link's sharing settings in Dropbox, not from Thendoo. Check who the link is shared with in Dropbox, or sign in to the right Dropbox account.
